2016 Delas Freres "St-Esprit" Côtes du Rhône Rouge

95 points Decanter: "60% Syrah, 40% Grenache. Lovely rich opulent and floral, black berry and plum nose, the palate is big with well layered fruit, attractively firm but soft tannin and hints of oak, a big wine with a lovely finish. *Gold Medal Winner Decanter Asia Wine Awards*" (7/2017) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache, the 2016 Cotes du Rhone Saint-Esprit is a screaming value. If offers bold black cherry and blueberry fruit aromas, lively fruit flavors, silky tannins and a crisp, lengthy mocha-tinged finish. Mas Codina Cava Brut Reserva Penedès

Mas Codina is a 40 hectare estate in Penedès which dates back to 1681. This Brut Reserva Cava was hand-harvested from 20 to 30-year-old vines and estate bottled. Though it does not say it on the label, the current disgorgement is based entirely on the 2014 harvest. Vines are planted in calcareous and sandy clay soils which keep the wine minerally and lively. The wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle, and is aged on its lees for a minimum of two years before disgorgement. Varietals include Macabeo, Xarel-lo, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. 100% ... Read More »

Suntory 12 Year Old "Hakushu" Japanese Peated Single Malt Whisky (750ml) (Previously $90)

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This golden, silky single malt mingles vanilla and honey with fresh apple and pear aromas. These notes are echoed on the palate alongside a wave of peat smoke. Add a splash of water to offset the modest but persistent alcohol heat and further coax out the fruity-smoky flavors. (KN)" (12/2015) Whisky Advocate: "Although only two years older, this expression of Hakushu — the first to be launched in the U.S. — shows a fleshier side to the distillery’s wares. While it has retained the freshness of the 10 year old, it shows more pineapple and grapefruit on the nose, with a littl ...Read More »

Moët & Chandon "Impérial" Brut Champagne (187ml)

91 points Wine & Spirits: "This blend is mostly Pinot Noir and Meunier, including 10 percent red wine for color. Chardonnay accounts for 10 to 20 percent, including a portion of reserve wines that may be providing the oceanic, oyster-shell notes that bring to mind Champagne’s Kimmeridgean limestone. This is broad and loose up front, with fruity scents of orange and pomegranate. Then the wine keeps buzzing with brisk acidity, tightening up and extending the flavors with energy. An impressive release of Impérial." (12/2015) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Toasted hazelnut and smoke notes are rich and focused in this ...Read More »

2015 Noemia de Patagonia "A Lisa" Malbec Rio Negro

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 A Lisa is mostly Malbec with some 9% Merlot and a 1% pinch of Petit Verdot, a wine that shows the potential of Río Negro in Patagonia and the style of Noemía at a very attractive price and at the same time is easy to drink. 2015 seems to be an excellent vintage in the region, and this wine, which only saw 30% of its volume in neutral, well-seasoned oak barrels while the rest was kept in stainless steel for some nine months, shows a balance and freshness that can compete with the fines vintages produced. 2015 Bedrock Wine Company "Old Vine" California Zinfandel

93 points Wine Spectator: "No. 12 on Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of 2017 - *Smart Buys* Rich and supple, this is an explosion of pure, decadent fruit. Floral huckleberry and Chinese five-spice powder aromas open to layered blackberry, dark chocolate and licorice flavors that linger. Drink now through 2026. 2012 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru "153rd Anniversary Cuvee" (Elsewhere $60)

92-94 points Vinous: "Building off the considerable success of their 2009 Beaune 150th Anniversary 1er Cru, Jadot has decided to make the wine again in top years. One of the highlights in this range, the 2012 boasts stunning power, depth and harmony. The lifted aromatics recall the Ursules, but here the fruit possesses more volume and creaminess. An explosive, layered finish rounds things out in style. Some of the parcels in the blend are Avaux, Cent Vignes, Pertuisots, Vignes Franches, Perrières, Toussaints and Chouacheux. Coopers Sparkling Ale, Australia (12oz)

From the brewery: "The ale by which all others should be measured. With its famous cloudy sediment and its distinctive balance of malt, hops and fruity characters, the old "Red Labe" is a tasty slice of Coopers history. Little has changed since Thomas Cooper produced his first batch of Coopers Sparkling Ale in 1862. It's still brewed naturally using the century old top fermentation method, and it still tastes great!" Contains no additives or preservatives. 5.8% ABV.

It’s a profoundly deep and intense wine, rich in mouth-drying tannins, yet packed with cassis fruit and notes of licorice, mocha and black olives. Tariquet Bas "Classique" VS Armagnac (750ml)

Perhaps our best deal on brandy of any kind, this is outrageously smooth and supple to the point that I can't imagine anyone truly not enjoying it. The fruit is all handpicked and the Grassa family has been making it in a pot still since 1911. It spends only three years in barrel, which seems impossible when you feel its velvety texture in your mouth. The aromas are very delicate with dried apricots and caramel sifting gently in. 2004 Pol Roger "Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill" Brut Champagne

98 points Decanter: "Sir Winston is looking particularly dignified and refined in 2004, with a surprisingly primary, youthful air, yet all the understated poise that one can expect of this classic cuvée. A cascade of impeccably refined acidity swirls into a river of minerality that flows deep and swift all the way to the distant horizon. The berries are fermented for three days, after which the pressed juice undergoes further fermentation in stainless steel vats. Under normal circumstances, we either bottle the wine directly from the vats 9-10 months later – or mature the wine in oak casks. Upright Brewing Company "Ives ONE" Still Barrel Fermented Lambic Oregon (375ml)

Ives is a label we created for a series of "wild" wheat based beers rooted in the classics from Brussels. In typical Upright fashion, our take is not meant to copy an existing style or specific beer, but to use other examples as a starting point and inspiration. This first release is a blend of only four casks, all of which were inoculated with orchard yeast and bacteria. After 19 months in the... Read More »

2015 Tensley "Colson Canyon Vineyard" Santa Barbara County Syrah

Its glass staining purple color is followed by a smorgasbord of Syrah goodness; blackberry jam, plums, exotic flowers, hints of tapenade, scrub brush and violets all literally soar from the glass. This gives way to a full-bodied, unctuous, and concentrated 2015 that has sweet tannin, notable freshness and a great finish. It’s primary and incredibly un-evolved, and needs 2-3 years of cellaring, yet is a sensational wine.
